The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s CANCER INSTITUTE is dedicated to providing world-class cancer care that involves research, clinical trials, drug development, and outpatient treatment, both comprehensive and cutting edge. Defeating cancer takes a team. At the Cancer Institute, researchers, doctors and allied medical staff work together with their patients to provide better access to screening and treatment, and to provide better treatment, all with a goal of ending cancer.

The medical arm of UMMC’s Cancer Institute, UNIVERSITY CANCER CARE, uses a multidisciplinary team of skilled surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and allied healthcare professionals who offer state-of-the-art treatment for malignancies and suspected malignancies. This team approach means patients benefit from a full array of cancer specialists. It also means doctors scrutinize treatment options and the latest research so they can recommend the most advanced procedures and appropriate clinical trials. This enables them to present a jointly formulated treatment plan that coordinates all aspects of care to enable the best possible patient outcome.
